Progression

As the Earth moves in between our moon and the sun, the light of the moon slowly fades into a dark, blood crimson, resulting in a lunar eclipse. November 2021 saw the longest partial lunar eclipse in over 500 years. On its eve, I stood outside for the entire night, enveloped by cold, all for a vision to document the progression and change of the moon. But Progression is not just a story about the journey of the moon but also a reflection of life. Like the path of the moon, nothing in life is linear. And we all will go through periods where our light diminishes. But nothing stays stagnant. And if we keep going, we will find our light. And when we look back, we will see that it wasn’t the light that made our journey memorable, but the moments of periodic darkness and our choice to progress. The resulting image depicts the moon from the beginning of the eclipse until sunrise.
