Tokyo Rain

I've been looking at this piece now since August last year. Initially I had written it off as a simple example of image making and wasn't sure if it was something I would ever finish. I now believe Tokyo Rain represents somewhat of a breakthrough in my practice. While it isn't set on the foundation of a long thought out concept - it is an unintentional, unvarnished reflection of where I was in that moment. At the end of 2021 I suffered major burn out with with my art and was unable to create anything for many, many months. This piece is one of the last things I made before hitting that wall. It has allowed me to view my work in a completely new light and I am so happy to have finally finished it.
