Daily Bread

Artists Almyra Weigel and Mantas Talmantas The prototype used for this NFT is the installation of the 12 art objects - aprons made using bread, hot glue, spray paint by the artist Almyra Weigel in 2007. When presented in the exhibitions these aesthetic, ephemeral works are usually dropped from the ceiling on invisible threads and left kneeling on the floor. Naming the work Daily Bread, artist seems to be echoing the words of the prayer “Our Father” – “Give us this day our daily bread”. --- Almyra Weigel is a contemporary artist interested in the pressure fields between traditional cultural stereotypes and relentless external influences that affect modern humans. Born in Lithuania, she has lived and worked in Berlin since 2001. --- NFT was realised by Mantas Talmantas who is an educator as well as artist and film maker. Talmantas specialises in fields of animation, illustration, 3D animation, photogrammetry and VR. Graduated from Vilnius art academy and international school of new media in Lubeck, where he studied photography, documentary filmmaking and media technologies. His first VR film was screened in FOFEST, New York 2016.
