This oil painting is a contemporary cubist reinterpretation of The 7 Virtues – Le 7 Virtù, inspired by the original Renaissance series housed in Florence’s Uffizi Gallery. Drawing from the classical forms of Botticelli and Pollaiolo, the piece reimagines each virtue through a modern lens, using a labor-intensive technique of oil-dyeing and pigment washing on linen to evoke a sense of age and sacredness.
Created over seven uninterrupted days, the work blends subdued, vintage-inspired tones with fragmented forms that explore multiple perspectives of each figure, channeling both strength and softness.
The result is a richly textured meditation on timeless ideals—Fortitude, Temperance, Faith, Charity, Hope, Justice, and Prudence—reframed for a contemporary audience.
First exhibited in 2024 at the immersive Glimpses of Eternity show at Lume Studios in New York City, the painting bridges past and present, inviting viewers to reflect on the relevance of virtue in a fast-paced, digital world.
In April 2025, the piece was featured in Primavera Digitale, a week-long digital art festival in Florence celebrating the fusion of tradition and technology. It was first shown at Rifugio Digitale as part of Speranza, an exhibition held within the repurposed World War II anti-aircraft tunnel.
Later that week, both the digital version and the physical painting were exhibited at Palazzo Pucci during the Digital Enlightenment gala, presented in collaboration with 30 Campos Elíseos. A stunning example of Florentine Renaissance architecture, Palazzo Pucci has long been a symbol of the city’s artistic heritage, making it a fitting setting for a dialogue between classical ideals and contemporary digital expression.
