"1984" is an artwork created using Generative Adversarial Networks and Style Transfer algorithms, to create a visualization of the all-seeing eyes of artificial intelligence.
The eye is a symbol at the center of many ancient cultures and beliefs. Its unique and divine look has carried many significations over the centuries: protection, secret, luck, even injury. The eye represents a gate to the soul, reflecting the deepest human features AI is trying to replicate.
Many implementations of surveillance programs are being done in order to monitor their population, improving life and wellness while impeding liberty related rights which are dear to most individuals. This collection is a tribute to the intellectuals who decided to tackle this subject in their life's work.
This work aims at opening your eyes to how face recognition is used to facilitate surveillance on a large scale.
In collaboration with MoCA, the work is exhibited in Paris "CryptoArt Revolution" and in the metaverse Cryptovoxels.
