Changpeng "CZ" Zhao is the CEO of Binance, one of the world's leading cryptocurrency exchanges. Recently, CZ and Binance have been accused of market manipulation, specifically through "wash trading," to inflate the value of their native token, BNB. The allegations suggest Binance could be secretly selling Bitcoin to maintain support for BNB. In addition to this, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has launched a lawsuit against Binance.US, alleging violations of securities laws and engagement in wash trading through Sigma Chain, a 'market-making' trading firm owned by CZ. CZ has strongly denied these accusations.
