TOWER OF BABEL ~ collaboration by Tim Maxwell & Laurence Fuller
“Long live the endless days of ecstasy” ~ were his words of hubris, they built the tower upwards to meet the infinite skies. Higher and higher.

Ambition built the tower.
The steward thought he was a pharaoh,
At the blackening hour,
The market grips of power.
Stumbled in the dark up the steps he thought were built for him.
His associates, rivals and
Guided he thought by the seraphim.
Acolytes parted the bars of untold wealth,
Allegiance to the diety, as he proclaimed himself
“What will he say to me?”
Parting his lips, the secrets of the Tower;
“Love me, and (under streams of gold you will shower)”
Plucked a string at the peak,
It shuddered to all the gentry and the meek.
