Phantom

Phantom is a mixed media piece that alludes to the dark side of continuous digital connectivity and the nonstop consumption of content. While being connected digitally has so many amazing perks, excessive connectivity, especially in the web3 space, can cause one to lose their sense of reality, values, and stability. These then contribute to poor mental health and a variety of other negative feedback loops. Working as a creator and being able to produce my own artwork is a blessing, but there are also immense pressures on myself and other creators (especially in the web3 space) to constantly be engaging with followers, releasing new content, driving hype/value, and hustling. There is little room to breathe and take breaks in a 24/7 and highly competitive environment, and not being "on" can lead to lost opportunity, income, or growth. This piece is meant to portray a being breaking free from constant connectivity. While being "plugged-in" can be beautiful, meaningful, and teach us so much, it's equally as important to disconnect and strive for balance. With balance, we can have more spaciousness for creativity, nurturing relationships, and self-care.
