A Beatriz Urrutia & KOLLECTOR Collaboration - Sovreign curated collabs ( artist profile on x : @mandolinaes ) Description : There is a difference between contemplating something immense and finding yourself inside it. From a distance, the landscape retains a certain separation. From within, the scale of everything changes. The body ceases to be the point of reference and becomes little more than a small presence within a form that took thousands of years to come into being.
This image is not about the size of the glacier, but about the time that inhabits it. Every layer of ice, every curve, every opening toward the light is the result of winters too numerous to count. Measured against that timescale, a human life barely grazes the surface.
And yet there is no sadness in that disproportion. There is, instead, a quiet sense of peace. The possibility of feeling small without feeling insignificant. Of passing through a place that has never needed our presence to exist, and that, even so, allows us—for a fleeting moment—to become part of its story.
