I find a distinct contrast in this image that I love, the softer textures in the foreground against the hard moon crater like ridges almost infer a level of fossilisation. There is also the flowing transient nature of a sand dune in play here. This fossilised form is actually a transient sand dune, forever evolving. Its this knowledge and the contrast of what looks to be solid form I find fascinating. So much layering and detail.
