Somerton Man - Episode V
Is love at the heart of everything we do. Can it lead to a death?
The suspected code found in the Rubaiyat was sent to the Australian military. To this day, it has never been cracked. Was it even a code? Or simply random scribbling?
The phone number led to a house not far from where Somerton Man died. Had he been there? Living there was Jessica Thompson, a former nurse. Did he visit her that fateful day?
Her favourite book... was The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyám. Why was her number in Somerton Man's copy? She said she had given hers to a soldier called Alf Boxall, during World War II
The police were convinced they had their man. But they soon found Boxall and he still had the book Jessica had given him. Was Boaxall the only man she had given a copy to? How many others knew this was her favourite book?
Jessica was shown the death mask of the Somerton man. She said she didn't know him but witnesses claimed that when she saw his face, she almost collapsed.
If she held the keys to the mystery, she was keeping them to herself.
Based on a true story… as true as it can be.
