DŪNE Architectural drawing. DŪNE is a transcendent mixed-media artwork that comes as the culmination of years of architectural research and exploration of the dynamic interstitial spaces that form the architectural space, called Project INTERFACE. We aim to enrich the viewer's experience and perception of space within the realm of architecture and spatial design. Through DŪNE, we invite you on a journey through time and space, uncovering the complex relationships and textures that define the architectural interface. As the title DŪNE suggests, this artwork reveals the sensual and enigmatic interplay of form and texture of the environment and the space beyond, where architecture takes on new forms. The piece brings to life the interstitial spaces that resemble the rolling dunes, towering rocks, and majestic mountains of alien worlds. This tactile quality invites you to explore the depths of space and time, discovering new perspectives of the architectural environment and our place in the universe. DŪNE is created through a fusion of digital 3D modelling and digital hand-drawing techniques. The 3D modelling technique carves out metamorphic forms that represent architectural space. These 3D sculptures with different landscapes, surfaces and textures are then combined to create the relationship between the parts of the interface while imbuing the shapes and textures with the sublime qualities of space. Line by line, these forms are then rendered in intricate detail through a speculative and imaginative drawing technique, bringing to life the moments of tension, pressure, and interaction that define the interstitial spaces of the interface, transforming them into a cosmic landscape that resonates with the human soul. We aspire to transcend the boundaries of traditional architecture and embark the viewers on a captivating journey through space and time, enabling them to experience the infinite beauty and complexity of the universal qualities of space. Through portraying the dynamic and organic relationships between various elements that integrate into a harmonious whole, much like the interplay of dunes, rocks, mountains, and the landscapes they inhabit, we can appreciate the transformative power of architecture.
