Time Will Heal You.

“Time will heal you,” a very trivialized but important phrase we’ve all heard at some point in life. The more we hear something, the less inclined we are to think about it deeply. We tend to get so familiar with it that the sentiment it holds gets watered down. People have heard that phrase so much they see it as some form of go-to comforting statement, but its meaning will always be deeper than that. We need to bring back the patience to recover from the things that hurt us, a lot of people wander the earth carrying the baggage of past hurts and grievances while telling themselves the lie that it’s long gone. This is because a lot of us rush through the pain when it befalls us, leaving no time to grow out of it naturally. We need to bring back that intentionality to let ourselves heal from the pain. It seems unlikely that time itself is the healing factor; I don’t think it is. But it is the vessel through which the healing is made real… And so we must be patient to let time pass over our hurts so our healing comes wholly. AnjolaDave, 2023
