Spirit Guides

For the Tukano indigenous tribe in Colombia, the hallucinatory sphere is the origin of all art forms. Altered states of consciousness and their ritual representations are believed to offer dimensions of the imaginary in which individual and social conflicts or desires can be focused to solve or satisfy them. After a lifetime of spiritual conflict, feeling disconnected from everything and everyone, just out of curiosity and with a huge predisposition to spirituality, I began my Plant Medicine journey with the sacred Mother Plant Ayahuasca, also known as the vine of the soul. My initiation was with a Shaman from the Inga tribe in my home country Colombia. He opened a mystical portal of introspection and transformation. ‘’Spirit Guides’’ seeks to give an approach to my personal process of introspection that arises from my experiences with the ancient Amazonian medicine and that has triggered a transformation of both thought and life, opening doors towards artistic experimentation and accompanying me in the process of searching for my own language for the past seven years. As I was immersed in a tunnel of darkness, struggling to see the light, witnessing the darkest parts of myself, a resplendent Jaguar moves through the fire and jungle and approaches me with power and intensity. A revelation before my eyes. The gatekeeper of the mystical shows me the strength I have yet to recognise within myself. The mother of Ayahuasca is a serpent. In the Amazon, the great Serpent has immeasurable knowledge and her teachings are particularly coveted by shamans. She shows up before me and guides me through the deepest rebirth. As I am stepping into the unknown, She becomes my primary guide on the path of self- awareness, inner healing and transformation. She accompanies me through the shedding of my old thoughts, beliefs, fears and doubts. The Macaw comes as the messenger between the human and spirit worlds. He fills my soul with courage in my new beginning and shows me how to own my power. He invites me to see the beauty in life and encourages me to open my wings and let my true colours shine through. The hummingbird teaches me how to celebrate all the blessings in my life. At this point and I am embracing my life’s lessons and looking forward to the future. He guides me towards living in the present moment and enjoy life’s nectar. He sparkles love and magic within me. The Amazonian Kambo frog encourages me to sing my soul’s song and embrace my voice with pride. He guides me through adaptability, tenacity and resilience while reminding me that my choices should be made based on what is right for me. These Spirit Guides have shown me the way back to myself in my darkest hours, when I felt most disconnected from my essence. They are me. I am them. We are one. One with Pachamama and one with the Universe.
