Bench In The Trenches

There was this bench I would go to after arguments to cool off, regardless of who it was this spot was where I would sit and wonder how this person is so distant, possibly in a better land so how could they possibly see or feel me. The bench in the image is a photo of the irl bench but the view is very different.IRL was ocean and dozens of people walking, going somewhere... through my minds eye I saw nothing but my trenches and a distant Cityscape. Sometimes on fire sometimes glowing with beauty, I couldn't decide if it was Miami, New York, Dubai it didn't really matter I just wanted to find anywhere better than the trenches on my own... where are my people?
