The Garden

I used to often think about my younger self, and wished that version of me could've reached earlier the places i eventually reached. Going back to the idea of always needing to do more and never being satisfied, and often being harsh on myself despite putting in my best efforts. But throughout my journey the past year, i come to realize that this past imperfect version of myself planted the seeds that bloomed into the garden i currently enjoy. This idea is showcased through our character sitting in a field of swaying flowers, while looking up at the butterflies that symbolize growth, and playing into the old saying of not chasing butterflies but instead mending your garden leading to those butterflies to come to you. This animation was drawn frame by frame on paper, with each movement drawn by hand, and colored as well as finalized on photoshop and after effects.
