The Things We Hide explores humanity’s uneasy relationship with mortality. Although death is the one certainty we all share, we spend much of our lives behaving as though it can be postponed, ignored, or kept out of sight.
Created during a period of profound personal loss, the work reflects the distance between understanding that life is temporary and accepting what that truly means. The figure’s quiet, impossible task becomes a meditation on denial, vulnerability, and our instinct to protect ourselves from truths we cannot change.
A reflection on the fragility of existence, and the things we struggle to let go of.
