RARE POPE 0044
Formosus 891-896. At Stephen’s VI orders, the next pope after his death, Formosus’ rotten corpse was exhumed, dressed in papal robes, placed on a throne, tried, de-fingered, briefly reburied, and later thrown in the Tiber river.
