Gujida
A long time ago, the world was flat and empty, with no rivers, no mountains, and no ocean. It was quiet and still, with nothing but bare earth. But deep beneath the surface, Gujida, the Rainbow Serpent, slept. When Gujida awoke, he decided it was time to bring the world to life.
Gujida began to move, slithering across the land. As he moved, his giant body carved out valleys and rivers, making paths for the water to flow. His rainbow-colored scales sparkled in the sunlight, and wherever he went, plants grew, animals appeared, and the earth became full of life. His movement created the rivers and lakes, and when Gujida reached the edge of the land, his powerful coils made the ocean. The waves, which now crash on the shore, are Gujida's breath, rising and falling as he rests.
The people who lived by the sea knew that Gujida was more than just a giant serpent—he was a creator and a protector. They believed that Gujida's spirit lived in the ocean waves and the flowing rivers. They would sing songs and tell stories to honor him, knowing that Gujida had given them life by shaping the land and providing water for their survival.
But the people also understood that Gujida was powerful. If they mistreated the land or water, Gujida could become angry. He might stir the ocean and cause storms or floods to remind everyone of his strength. To keep everything in balance, the people respected the land and sea, just as they respected Gujida.
Today, Gujida still rests beneath the land and sea, watching over everything. His spirit is in the waves, in the rivers, and even in the rainbow that sometimes appears after a storm. He is always there, reminding people to care for the world he created and to live in harmony with nature.
