Compassion

This was this the second day for a young rescue elephant beginning its new life in the mountains of Southern Thailand, It took a liking too me, and once we hopped it a pond of water for her to cool off, I kept getting stuck in the mud and fallin over in the water, while it was only waste deep, she would immediately come over to try and help me coming way up close to see if I was ok, as i stood up I was looking at an eye full of compassion, curiosity and wonder, as if it’s seeing the world with fresh eyes but carries the wisdom and heritage of its ancestors in its very being.
