Caladenia

Caladenia longicauda, Commonly known as the white spider orchid. This beautiful organism was located in the Porongorup Ranges of Southern Western Australia. This is a macro stacked image. 70 images have been combined to document intricate macro detail across a wider depth of field possible with just a single macro image. This technique is extremely challenging to pull off as these wild flowers are incredibly delicate and move with just the slightest breeze. For a macro stack to work the flower needs zero movement. The black background, allowing the flowers to pop out was provided by the cover of one of my A3 Journals that was sitting on the back seat of my car. i stuck it behind the flowers leaning up against my camera bag for support.
