The network was mapped for The New York Times Essay "The Art World Usually Works in Secret. Here’s a Look Inside,” published on 5/7/21. The nodes on the map correspond to NFTs sold on SuperRare between April 2018 and April 2021, capturing both primary and secondary sales. Each artwork is linked to all art owned by the same collector.
