A GAN painting with photoshop manipulation which pays tribute to the Impressionist master, Claude Monet. With experiments in abstraction, Monet makes light and objects feel as real as they can be, while still allowing the viewer to see the world through a painter's eyes. His genius exists in his keen awareness of his subjects' susceptibility to changes in light caused by seasonality and time of day. 'Gains of Light' is the third work in a series of GAN art which utilizes a machine learning library built not to reconstruct Monet’s work, but to composite all of his paintings. The series highlights the power of the machine and its possibilities for artistic freedom.
