Serenity Triple Helix Spider

Serenity is a rogue planet in a fairly small and remote solar system with two other planets about 48 light-years from Earth, orbiting Alpha Ophiuchi, also named Rasalhague, a binary star and the brightest star in the constellation of Ophiuchus. Serenity is about 1.2 times bigger than Earth with a slightly lighter gravity force, about 0.87 times that of Earth. The landscape around Serenity human colony is a majestic Alpine vision, snowcapped mountains soar above untouched forests and pristine, shining lakes. Serenity engineers build magnets that are around 100,000 times stronger than the magnetic field of the Earth. That's what you need if you want to bend the path of particles traveling beyond the speed of light. The colony location was chosen carefully to allow the construction of a faster than light-speed interstellar gateway at the highest peak on the planet - allowing instant communications and travel between the remote planet and the rest of the galaxy. Finding higher forms of intelligence on other planets is something we as humans have dreamt of for ages, both for better and worse. Serenity turned out to become the first colony to discover such life forms within the dense forests below the interstellar gateway. The Triple Helix Spider evolved on Serenity for billions of years and developed a hive mind spanning across the planet giving it a unique planet-wide view at all times.
