Burning at 7000° Celsius, the Chromosphere -the uppermost region of the Solar surface- teems with activity when seen through a Hydrogen Alpha filter. Massive filaments of plasma twist and tangle across the surface as they interact with the Sun's magnetic field, while prominences larger than the entire Earth shoot out into space from the Solar limb. This image was shot using a Hydrogen Alpha filter which blocks out 99.9% of the Sun's radiation, revealing the faint details on its surface. 5000 individual frames were shot with my rooftop setup, captured and stacked for this hi-res view of our Sun.
