Make Art Not War (AR-15)
As an artist, my work is often inspired by the world around me, and the events and issues that affect our society. In creating this piece, an assault rifle with a see-through magazine filled with crayons, I wanted to make a statement about the role of art in our world and the power it has to shape our perspectives and actions.
By replacing the bullets with crayons, I aimed to subvert the traditional associations of violence and destruction that are often linked to weapons like the assault rifle. Instead, the brightly colored crayons serve as a reminder of the potential for creativity and imagination that exists within us all.
This piece is part of my "Make Art Not War" collection, which seeks to promote a message of peace and hope through art. By using the language of weaponry and military action in my work, I hope to create a dialogue around the importance of art as a means of promoting empathy, understanding, and healing in our world.
Ultimately, my goal as an artist is to inspire others to think critically about the world around them and to consider the role that art can play in shaping our individual and collective consciousness. Through my work, I hope to encourage a shift in perspective towards one of peace, love, and creativity.
