Not merely a piece of playground equipment, “Horse” is a cross-section exposing the nucleus, Golgi apparatus, mitochondria, and lysosomes of a cell. The metal spring is a flagellum, propelling the protagonist through space. The protagonist's hair bears an eery resemblance to the ice cream in her hand. As she consumes her treat, her head slowly melts away, memories vanishing as childish thoughts are replaced by more complex concerns devised by the rapidly dividing cells in her growing brain. Horse.
