Empty Trolley

Thoughts from an artist who has been around the supermarket... and never found "the revolution" in stock. ... We find ourselves - collectively - as nothing more than an Empty Trolley rolling through a crowded supermarket. As the Empty Trolley wobbles along sterile floors, items with flashy packaging continually grab shoppers’ attention… even if the contents are probably and most likely - definitely - questionable. Fervent voices within the supermarket often reinforce vacuous consumer narratives, leading to more items popping up on the shelves in ostentatiously wrapped husks. With speculation steering the way… the Empty Trolley remains - Empty - for there is no true value... The Empty Trolley is… Empty of meaning. Empty of thinking. Empty of nuance. Empty of promises. But... ... the Empty Trolley is still a vessel. And we have to power to change its course.
