Lucid

Lucid is a study on the perception of beauty and artificial intelligence. It is a collection of AI-generated images using GAN networks. All output images are very carefully curated with the intention of selecting those that might correspond to a universal understanding of beauty. A universal visual language to which everyone can relate to is nature, so the visual and physical aesthetics of nature are incorporated into the artwork. The pictures are abstractions, often reminiscent of plants, landscapes and even animals. By further abstracting the artwork into a flowing aesthetic, it loses the "digital" and "AI"-generated look and transforms into something surreal, yet very natural. An abstraction of the concept of beauty empowered by AI.
