Jeffrey Scott Buckley (November 17, 1966 - May 29, 1997) was an American singer-songwriter and guitarist. The album that brought him to definitive consecration was Grace (1994) which in a short time became a milestone in the music of his generation. His voice is appreciated for its expressiveness and considerable extension. He drowned at the age of thirty while taking a swim in the Wolf River on the way to a recording studio.
