DEFIANT TRAIL

As an African woman, I’ve grown accustomed to hearing that there are some things that I can’t go into, some activities I dare not take on because I am a woman”. This piece perfectly displays my defiance to the stereotypes and definitions that are found within my society. I am resolved to leaving a trail of excellence and supremacy in every area that I deem worthy of my participation because I know my story and destiny can only be written by me. My trail is Defiant! The use of symbolic compositions like the Sky and Stars are a remarkable representation as the Stars are natural elements that beautifies the earth! They add radiance and give light to the world! They are endowments and gifts to humankind and also a constant reminder to me that I am capable of shining and can beautify the world with my gifts. This piece was created in collaboration with a fellow great artist and friend who believes and shares the same creative vision as me.
