A wave doesn’t just break. It’s born, it gathers its strength, moves with purpose, breaks with precision and fury, and then disappears. Then it rises, again. An entire cycle that we become mesmerised by. Birth, death, and rebirth. Then there’s the folklore surrounding these waves. Waves you’ve only heard stories about but never managed to witness in person. This moment was as unexpected as it was spectacular. Also for me, proof that a wave doesn’t need to be gigantic to be unforgettable. I was left with the wonder of the Phoenix after this moment, sitting in the water, spellbound by what I’d just witnessed.
