Goodnight Moon

Audio/Visual Time-lapse Hot Creek is a geological wonder with natural hot springs that wind through a rocky gorge and lead out to an absolutely gorgeous view of the Eastern Sierra Mountains. A breathtaking view by day and even more magical at night as the Milky Way core sets perfectly over the snow capped peaks. I carefully planned a time-lapse on this night to incorporate the crescent moon illuminating the rising steam which is caused by the magma heated groundwater mixing with the cooler waters of the creek. The moon provided just enough backlight on the steam without drowning out details of the Milky Way core. A true testament to the beauty of Mother Nature.
