About the Collection
Emergent Threads brings together nine creatures from Karoline Georges’ ongoing Post-Brocart Bestiary, a body of work that imagines artificial intelligence through poetic portraiture.
Rather than depicting AI as a machine or a technological interface, the collection gives it the form of hybrid beings: creatures drawn from mythology, living morphologies, and ornamental traditions. Their bodies are woven from a post-textile matter, a constructed surface where threads, membranes, patterns, and cultural memory become inseparable.
Textile is used here as a metaphor for culture itself: something fabricated, transmitted, adorned, coded, and endlessly recomposed. In these specimens, AI takes shape as a chimera of cultural imagination, stitched from fragments of image, myth, and craft. Each creature is also accompanied by its own distinct sonic presence, extending the portrait beyond the visual field.
