Richard Nadler: HabiTextures
An Archive of Lived Moments. A new collection of 30 unique works.
Following ArchiTextures (June 2025), which examined the external geometry of architecture, Habitextures turns inward, toward the lived moments that transform a house into a home. These 30 works mark a closed chapter: a final condensation of architecture, friendship, and the stories that shape us.

The Space as Witness
Following ArchiTextures, which explored the external geometry of architecture, Habitextures opens the door to what truly transforms a house into a home: its stories. A living space is far more than an arrangement of walls and furniture; it is a vessel for the entire spectrum of human experience.
30 Rooms, Countless Lives
Within these rooms, life is negotiated in all its intensity. These are places where we laugh loudly and weep deeply; where we sing together, argue passionately, or find solace in silence. We all possess living rooms, yet no two are alike because the walls absorb and store the echoes of our individual experiences. Every person inhabits their space differently, shaping it with unique rituals and personal traces.
A central pillar of this series is the energy of community. Many of these rooms carry the resonance of long, vibrant evenings: the warmth of celebrations with friends, the clinking of glasses, and the boisterous laughter of my father, which once filled every corner. These moments of festivity and pure vitality are what truly breathe soul into a room.
The Uninhabited Paradox: A Vacuum of Presence
While these works speak of celebration, laughter, and song, the rooms themselves remain intentionally empty of human figures. This "vacuum of presence" is a deliberate curatorial choice: the spaces do not feel vacant because they are abandoned, but because they are waiting. By removing the physical presence of people, the traces they have left behind, the intricate textures, the play of light, and the worn fabrics, become even more vivid. These uninhabited sanctuaries act as a silent stage, inviting each viewer to step into the frame and fill the void with their own stories and echoes of the past.
The Texture of Memory
Inspired by my father’s lifelong passion for textiles and the haptic beauty of antique Persian rugs, I perceive these life stories as a complex weave. He taught me that surfaces, the patina of a watch, the leather of a handcrafted shoe, or the fibers of a fine fabric, can store time and intimacy. In Habitextures, this invisible layer is made visible: light, color, and intricate patterns form a dense tapestry of conversations, songs, and emotions from which the atmosphere of a room is woven.
A Final Legacy
Habitextures is an invitation to view one’s own living space as the stage of one’s biography. These 30 works represent a closed chapter, a final condensation of architecture, friendship, and the countless stories that make us who we are.

To honor the importance of materiality, Habitextures offers a unique acquisition model.
Collectors first acquire the digital NFT, the visual essence of the vision.
In addition to the NFT, buyers have the exclusive option to purchase its physical counterpart: a large-scale, intricately embroidered representation of the room. These embroideries serve as a material translation of digital art. Every stitch gives the memory physical weight and makes the warmth of the stories tangible. By choosing the physical piece, the collector acquires more than just a digital asset; they gain a monumental, haptically rich masterpiece that bridges the gap between modern crypto-art and the traditional craftsmanship my father so deeply admired.
The transition from digital to physical in this series explores a fascinating contrast in temporality. While digital art is often perceived as instantaneous, a fleeting thought or a rapid vision captured in pixels, embroidery is one of the slowest, most meditative art forms. Each work exists in two speeds: the NFT represents the immediate spark of imagination, while the large-scale embroidery stands for manifestation and permanence. Stitch by stitch, the fleeting digital moment is anchored into fabric, creating a physical record intended to endure for decades. This dialogue between the "fast" digital spirit and the "slow" physical vessel gives the memory a lasting, monumental weight.
