Cult of Context by serezha
A collection of 100 strange, layered homages to relics, context, and consumption.
Depiction of a room with variable details and multiple objects that comment on or question the act of collecting and consumer culture, the relativity of brand and religion, the secrecy of public display, and collecting as a form and evidence of time.
A secret chamber or a precious backroom: a stash, a home gallery, evidence of conquered goods. A varied or selective, themed or spontaneous depiction of one's materialistic reality and post-materialistic matters.
The artist’s vision is about the correlation of trinkets, flags, stickers, logos, and various ritualistic and religious objects as part of our lives, and how they dilute and become a sequential continuation of one another.
The matter and power of context (lore) in the contemporary world. Collecting is where old and new gods collide. One's artifact is another's artefact.
A strange and layered homage to relics, context, and consumption.
