Meet the Artist: in Conversation with Skygolpe

Skygolpe explores the relationship between identity and alienation, through the fluid dimension of the physical and the digital existence of the body.

In his work, portraiture and identity are challenged by an intimate, yet anonymous depiction of the body. The use of the silhouette makes the work relatable, through which both the artist and audience can begin to channel and deconstruct, amplified by the mask-like quality of the figure’s face.

Skygolpe paintings “Atychiphobia” and “Subtraction” have recently been displayed during CADAF Online 2020 (the Contemporary Digital Art Fair) and are currently exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Digital Art in their art show “Digital Bodies, concerning bodily structures”, on view at mocda.org until Sept 30th.

In occasion of the exclusive launch of  “Atichiphobia” and “Subtraction” digital editions on the SuperRare art gallery, Serena Tabacchi, founder and curator at MoCDA, has invited artist (Skygolpe) for an intimate chat about his way of creating art.
