Ethan Proia (he/him) // @ethanproia builds research-based, interactive experiences inspired by scientific and spiritual phenomena, philosophy, science fiction, and the mechanisms of the natural world. Through spatial sensing and scanning technologies, photographic media, light projection, mixed reality, and digital electronics, Ethan explores space, time, human presence, and control.
Ethan has worked with prestigious clients such as PANTONE & The United Nations to create immersive installations & mixed-reality experiences. His work was recently featured in the 2020 Ars Electronica Festival for Art, Technology, and Society and Chicago’s Millennium Park.
Ethan’s research investigates the convergence of digital and physical spaces, the future of human-computer interaction, and environmental interface. He is currently working at ARTECHOUSE as a production and experience designer, self-publishing his theories, and pursuing a BFA in Art & Technology Studies at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
