CARNEVALE
Guest Curation by Selkie
Carnem Levare. Farewell to the flesh. In the philosophical “Carnevale”, life is pushed to the limit in a quest to find the soul. It becomes a carnival of allegories that bring to the fore life, death, pain and ecstasy in a sea of colour where cheer and solitude move hand in hand without a set destination. In this exhibition co-curated by Selkie and SuperRare, emerging Brazilian talent - Marcelo Terça-Nada, Fenelon and Darkness Creature - will share the stage with established artists - Hugo Faz, Barbara Carvalho, Beissú, Tchaggo, and Ottis Ots. Each artist was asked to offer their own interpretation of the “festival of the flesh” producing an array of mesmerising depictions of the antithetical concepts elicited by it.
