Stand Alone Complex

« Stand Alone Complex » is Tristan Le Blevennec’s SuperRare Genesis piece. It was taken in 2018, in front of the Museum of Art, Architecture & Technology (MAAT), in Lisbon, Portugal. This piece perfectly illustrates Tristan's graphic and minimalist visual signature and the intention behind his architectural work. From an early age, Tristan has been nourished by works of science fiction, whether novels, films, comics, or television series. He developed a fascination for fantastic and futuristic universes. Tristan loves to draw from contemporary architecture what is strongest graphically. The forms are supernatural, the geometries impeccable, the volumes overwhelming, disproportionate. By introducing a silhouette into a purely graphic space, devoid of any meaning, this environment then becomes a real scene with a character. In the confrontation between the artificial and the man, he introduces surrealism. Tristan thus creates his own science-fiction scenes. These scenes highlight the strong contrast between the man and the supernatural, almost fantastic environment in which he evolves. Tristan’s work questions us about our place in the world we have made for ourselves.
