II. SAND STORM

I’ll never forget that day on the dunes. Suddenly I couldn’t see the sky in the background, only an eerie darkness. Moving up the dune I could see a large dust cloud forming in the distance, and though menacing it looked as if it’d miss me. Within a matter of minutes I realized I was wrong and was about to get hit head on by a massive dust storm. With no immediate shelter nearby I braced for impact and nearly got knocked off my feet. The sun was then blocked out and everything tinted a yellowish-orange; it was haunting yet beautiful. With an air of uncertainty-how bad was this going to get? Based on real events.
