The Drummachine - Tokyoplastic 2.0
Tokyoplastic presents the Drummachine, in collaboration with composer Ed Cookson. This seminal work cemented tokyoplastic’s reputation as one of the foremost creative forces in early web design and went on to win numerous awards including the Audience Award at the Sundance Online Film Festival 2004. The drummachine was an integral part of Tokyoplastic 2.0 and for many people was their first introduction to the site.
Tokyoplastic 2.0 was the culmination of two and a half years of intensive work. The resulting site was a wild vector adventure that surprised you at every turn. Pushing the current technology beyond its limits to create a website unlike any other online experience.
While tokyoplastic was published in dozens of books and magazines, two dimensional print failed to capture its essence, it was too alive for that, dependent on the sharp animation and overwhelming sounds that made it completely unique. The perfect medium for it was the one that it was created for, nothing else would do it justice. Thanks to the advent of NFTs it is now possible to own this iconic work as it was intended to be experienced.
Never before available for sale, this is an opportunity to own a groundbreaking part of internet history that helped shape the future of web design and influenced a generation of artists and designers.
Painstakingly re-rendered and remastered from the original files and presented as a razor sharp, super smooth 2000x1000 resolution video. This is the definitive version of the drummachine.
A unique, 1/1 edition.
