Our discovery of Venarum Actuator concluded that Cockaigne was deeply invested in the process of re-seeding organic bio-scaffolds with cellular material from different lifeforms.
Following that submission of evidence, we can now bring to light this new scene which was discovered in a hidden annex of the same building that housed Venarum Actuator.
This table was shrouded in curtain, and there was a certain hesitance as to what we might find once we drew the fabric back. The contents are not as alarming as initally feared, but there are some points of intrigue.
The primary focus is a large jar on the right that contains a bird skull in some sort of suspension, the skull itself is remarkably clean, and there both a secondary receptacle below the large jar, and a form of filtration or distillation tube that leads from this jar to another smaller beaker.
Scattered around the scene are various books pertaining to the biological sciences, paper notes, plans, additional beakers and unidentified contents, a microscope and – in the shadows – a dead bird of prey.
One detailed that cannot be overlooked is the newspaper draped off the edge of the table, with the subtitle reading: ‘Scientist breaks taboo’. Given the previous conclusions from Venarum Actuator and the clandestine context of this scene it is reasonable to conclude that the scientist in question is indeed our subject, and the ‘taboo’ refers in some manner to their work.
This investigation would now like to ascertain what exactly the taboo referred to, and seeks to uncover whether we can find further details of Cockaigne’s research – and if the re-seeding experiments were expanded upon.
