Easter in Suburbia

My work revolves around nostalgia and each animation focuses on a sub-theme relative to that. This piece focuses on the hollow warmth of memories from time gone by. The hollow warmth you can feel on a rainy Sunday afternoon with nothing to do and the responsibilities of work looming, or being a kid and visiting a relative's house for holiday dinner when you're the only one there your age. Maybe it's rooted in boredom or maybe it goes beyond that and during that boredom we're confronted with feeling time go by without distraction. In any case I've always felt this the strongest in the suburbs. If you stop for a moment there you can hear the soundtrack of people's lives going by without the proximity to pull you in. Lives bustling past like pedestrians on a busy city sidewalk during rush hour and you standing on a bench looking out over them all until you hop down and get moving again. Easter in suburbia.
