Float 1

Float 1 and Float 2 were drawn from scenes of an oddly-shaped pool at my sister's house in 2007. I enjoyed observing how the floating objects—a noodle and an inner tube—couldn't help but to conjure up their own personalities in the way they occupied space. By omitting other elements of the pool (a slide and other objects), the traits of these two floating objects is gently forced into a relationship of sorts. From there, a narrative—however simple—follows their slowly coasting bobs into the evening.
