Big Sur

This stretch of the Pacific Coast Highway is where I realized that I had misplaced my water bottle. I also had no phone signal, no idea where I'd be staying that night, no prospects for dinner, and real doubts about my commitment to this particular highway at night. I decided to get out of the car and think through my situation. I stood there for a long time. The water out below made low, peaceful sounds.
