Little is known about the life of Jan Vermeer. Probably Vermeer did not have students, so he could not pass on his creative heritage to the next generations, and despite this, his contribution to the world of painting is very great. I like how Vermeer's story combines his fame and the mystery of life. We know so little about the great master, but so much about the pearl earring.
