Legend has it that somewhere in Japan, there lives a mysterious collector known as Ossen, whose obsession with art transcends the centuries.
Heir to traditions preserved since the Edo period, Ossen devotes her existence to discovering artworks that hold something beyond beauty: fragments of their creators' souls. According to legend, when an artist fades into oblivion, their final creation slowly begins to vanish. That is when Ossen appears, granting it a second existence within her collection.
No one knows how many artworks rest under her protection, nor the fate of those whose creations she rejects.
Some believe her collection harbors the spirits of forgotten artists. Others whisper that she herself should have died centuries ago. Yet one thing remains undeniable: as long as a work of art remains in Ossen's care, its creator shall never be entirely forgotten.
Death claims the bodies, but Ossen claims the souls that dwell within art. Thus was born the legend of the “Shadow Mecenas”.
