The Painter Who Works Only in the Blind Spots #5744

She paints only where the coverage ends, and the coverage keeps ending later. A courtyard wall, a backpack of cans, one camera facing the brick. //----------- THE MARKS On October 6 THE CENSUS RELEASE was cut from 6,666 to 1,111. Five thousand five hundred and fifty five painted New Yorkers were seen, painted, numbered and then left off the count. THE MARKS are 150 of them. A census taker counts in tally marks: four strokes and a slash. These New Yorkers carry the mark instead of the number. This is Mark 134 of 150. The mint order was shuffled once before the drop and published, so nobody, the artist included, picked who got which. Every Mark is revealed the moment it is minted. //----------- MOVES.
