The Fifth Borough #1736

Seven years in, the transplant finally takes the ferry to Staten Island. The boardwalk, the Sri Lankan lunch, and a view back at a city that looks like a postcard of their whole life so far. //----------- THE MARKS On October 6 THE CENSUS RELEASE was cut from 6,666 to 1,111. Five thousand five hundred and fifty five painted New Yorkers were seen, painted, numbered and then left off the count. THE MARKS are 150 of them. A census taker counts in tally marks: four strokes and a slash. These New Yorkers carry the mark instead of the number. This is Mark 038 of 150. The mint order was shuffled once before the drop and published, so nobody, the artist included, picked who got which. Every Mark is revealed the moment it is minted. //----------- MOVES.
